Ghostly ‘Snow Kangaroos’ Light Up Twitter After Unusual Storm In Australia

An unusual snowfall in New South Wales, Australia, over the weekend led to surreal images of kangaroos hopping through a white landscape.

“Not something you see every day in Australia,” tweeted one person, Stephen Grenfell, who captured some of the viral footage. “Kangaroos in the snow.”

Grenfell said on Twitter that the area in his clip is about three hours west of Sydney. And while it does snow a couple of times a year there, the weekend’s snowfall was the most he had ever seen.

Others also shared photos and footage of kangaroos bouncing through the snow on Twitter:

NASA releases extraordinary video of huge ‘UFO flying saucers’ hovering above Mount Etna

The strange clouds, known as “lenticular clouds”, are often mistaken for alien spacecraft. The time-lapse video, shared by NASA, shows the clouds in a series of images, lit up by orange glow of the volcano’s lava. The unusually shaped clouds are formed when moist air is forced to flow upwards near a mountain or volcano.

The clouds are formed mostly in the troposphere, the lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere.

The clouds have often been mistaken for UFOs throughout history, due to their smooth, round structure.

The images were shared by astrophotographer Dario Giannobile on Twitter, captioned “Earthshine Moon and Lenticular Cloud Over Mount Etna Eruption”.

NASA shared the picture on Monday as its astronomy picture of the day. NASA explained: “What’s happening above that volcano? Although Mount Etna is seen erupting, the clouds are not related to the eruption.

“They are lenticular clouds formed when moist air is forced upwards near a mountain or volcano.

“The surreal scene was captured by chance late last month when the astrophotographer went to Mount Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sicily, Italy, to photograph the conjunction between the Moon and the star Aldebaran.

“The Moon appears in a bright crescent phase, illuminating an edge of the lower lenticular cloud. Red hot lava flows on the right.

“Besides some breathtaking stills, a companion time-lapse video of the scene shows the lenticular clouds forming and wavering as stars trail far in the distance.”

Mount Etna is the most active volcano in Europe, with explosive activity increasing at its New Southeast Crater (NSEC) in July.

The volcano last erupted in May, spewing lava in a number of substantial eruptions.

Two fractures opened at the base of the South-East crater and on the north-eastern flank of the New South-East crater at about 3am local time (2am BST).

Mount Etna, towering above Catania, Sicily’s second-largest city, has one of the world’s longest documented records of historical volcanism, dating back to 1500 BCE.

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) said their surveillance cameras showed increased gas emissions from the base of the southern flank of NSEC, indicating that a new fissure has opened at the crater.

It created ash emissions, explosions and lava flows. The volcanic ash cloud reached 4.5 km (15 000 feet) above sea level.

Despite this, Mount Etna is considered as one of the safest volcanos in the world, with communities living around the site and a host of tourist spots present.

The eruptions are thought to have caused a total of 77 deaths in its history.

Its unpredictable behaviour sees it being one of the most guarded volcanos in the world.

Tourists are able to climb up Mount Etna, yet are urged to take extra and specific precautions and walk in groups.

Airport Worker Fired For Giving Traveler Note Reading, ‘You Ugly!’

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — An airport security worker in New York has been fired for handing a passenger a handwritten note that said “You ugly!!!”

The June incident came to light this week after passenger Neal Strassner obtained security video through a public records request and posted it to YouTube.

The video from Greater Rochester International Airport shows the worker handing Strassner the note after he passes through a metal detector.

Strassner says he didn’t think much of it and continued toward his gate. That’s when he says the woman yelled out: “You gonna open the note?”

Strassner says that when he did, the woman burst out laughing. He later complained to her supervisors.

The Transportation Security Administration says the woman worked for a contractor. The agency says it has “zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”

MH370 bombshell: Does investigator’s ‘secret’ clue prove co-pilot made distress call?

MH370 departed from Kuala Lumpur Airport on March 8, 2014, destined for Beijing, China, with 239 people on board. The Boeing 777 last communicated with air traffic control at 1:19am while travelling over the South China Sea, before disappearing altogether. However, a secret investigation may have discovered an emergency signal made moments before the jet vanished.

Malaysian police detailed how a telecommunication tower at Bandar Baru Farlim Penang in Malaysia detected a mobile number registered to Mr Hamid minutes before the plane dropped off the radar.

Former easyJet chief pilot Mike Keane said this supported the theory that Captain Zaharie Shah forcefully took control of the aircraft before plunging it into the sea.

He believes Mr Shah told Mr Hamid to go to the cabin before he locked the cockpit and depressurised the plane.

He theorises that Mr Hamid then used his phone in a desperate attempt to contact authorities.

He said in March: “The first officer would have been skilled in responding to depressurisation due to regular training.

“If Fariq had his mobile phone with him, he would have grabbed an oxygen bottle before taking his phone off flight mode or switching it on.”

However, telecommunications expert Matthew Sorell claims the phone may have actually been left on for the whole flight and performed a “new location area update” when approaching Penang.

He claimed: “This means the phone was on, and responded automatically when it detected the cell signal over Penang.”

Authorities in Malaysia had previously dismissed reports of the phone detection, which were first made in April 2014.

“Imagine what it would have been like for Zaharie to see the yellow plastic cup bob down after depressurisation.

“He would have been momentarily rattled, but with his experience, he would have realised immediately what had happened and what needed to be done.”

Ms Negroni theorises that Mr Shah tried to make it back to the cockpit, but struggled to catch his breath.

She adds: “The distance between the bathroom and the cockpit is just a few steps, but like Fariq, Zaharie was a smoker and probably more susceptible to the effects of oxygen deprivation.

“If he got out of the bathroom, if he got down the narrow corridor, if he got to the door of the cockpit without losing consciousness, another challenge would have awaited him.

“The cockpit door unlocks automatically when cabin altitude is lost. Would Zaharie have remembered that?

UFO sighting? Mystery flying object spotted in Amsterdam tornado sparks BIZARRE theories

The strange object sparked theories of possible extraterrestrial sightings and even “dark angels”. A video showed the mystery object on YouTube channel Mavi777, which depicts a strange glowing object flying in the sky above the tornado. One user commented on the video claiming the “orb lights” are the “fallen ones”.

The user claimed that “cattle mutilations are the work of these orbs which are dark angels.”

They continued: “They are also responsible for the crop circles.”

Another said: “Unbelievable footage. We are not alone.”

However, one user offered a more mundane explanation for the flying object.

They said that the objects are just weather drones sent to gauge the power of the tornado.

Another strange phenomenon was spotted this month in the skies above Brazil.

A massive shining figure was recorded flying in the cloudy sky.

The footage showed the peculiar entity changing direction whilst maintaining its shape.

A video was uploaded on YouTube showing a T-shaped shining object roughly resembling an angel in a long robe.

The cameraman said in the video: “It looks like light refraction but then again it looks like some type of energy source.

“It’s even got the harmonious appearance of an angel.”

An explanation for both events remains unclear.

Is Donald Trump trying to deport Melania? Wild conspiracy theory sparks Twitter meltdown

Trevor Noah made the explosive joke on The Daily Show, a US news satire programme. The host laid out the comedy conspiracy theory on Wednesday, pointing towards Donald Trump’s new immigration policy, announced this week. Mr Noah explained on the tongue-in-cheek show: “Now the reason I’ve been thinking about Melania lately is because in the wake of Trump’s recent immigration crackdown, I’ve started to notice something that’s got me really concerned.

“I think Donald Trump is trying to deport Melania. And you might be asking ‘why would he want to deport his wife?’ I don’t know, I don’t know. But things haven’t exactly been perfect between them.

“When he tried to hold her hand in public, she tried to slap it away.

“And who knows, it may have even created some tension between them and then the whole country found out about it.

“Anyway, you know, normal relationship issues, and I know it sounds crazy. Donald Trump wants to deport his wife?

“But if you look at all of Trump’s immigration policies, a lot of people think that he just hates immigrants, but when you put them all together, you start to notice a pattern.

“All of his policies seem to be aimed at his wife.”

Mr Noah then used clips from Fox News and President Trump’s own comments to help connect the dots of his farcical conspiracy theory.

However there is absolutely no suggestion any of what the US entertainer has said is true, as Melania and Donald Trump are happily married with no verified strains in their relationship, leaving Mr Noah’s extraordinary theory in tatters.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, Mr Noah continued to spout his ludicrous ideas.

He then said: “And as if this wasn’t enough evidence that Donald Trump is trying to deport his wife then how do you explain the new policy his administration announced this week?

“Saying that immigrants who receive assistance from the Government may not be allowed to stay in the US.

“Well guess who lives in a free house, provided by the United States.”

Although the outlandish theory was clearly made in jest, the segment triggered the trending of #DontDeportMelania on Twitter overnight, as users jokingly joined in with the theory, with Mr Noah himself posting: “Don’t do it Donald, #DontDeportMelania.”

Another user said: “This is hilarious #dontdeportmelania has to be one the best trending yet today.”

A third wrote: “Welp, Trevor Noah now owns the internet and we all have to pay him rent. #DontDeportMelania”.

The wild theory follows the Trump administration’s latest ruling, which would make it easier to reject green card and visa applications.

Acting US Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Ken Cuccinelli said it will encourage “self-reliance and self-sufficiency for those seeking to come to or stay in the United States.”

He added: ”We certainly expect people of any income to be able to stand on their own two feet,.

“So if people are not able to be self-sufficient, then this negative factor is going to bear very heavily against them in a decision about whether they’ll be able to become a legal permanent resident.”

Florida Man Takes Golf Cart On Wild Ride Through Walmart

GIBSONTON, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a 56-year-old Florida man took his golf cart on a wild ride through a Walmart store, terrorizing shoppers and ignoring deputies’ orders to stop before crashing into a cash register.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s investigators say they were summoned to the store near Tampa on Thursday, where they found Michael Dale Hudson blocking the liquor store entrance with his golf cart. The Tampa Bay Times reports he was demanding to speak to a manager.

As deputies spoke to Hudson, they say he suddenly drove toward the store’s main entrance. Customers jumped out of the way as he barreled through the door. He raced toward the checkout area, hitting several customers.

He was jailed on multiple charges, including aggravated battery. A lawyer wasn’t listed in jail records.

Myth #1: Pay For Your Vacation After You Get Home…

…since you’re getting a bonus next month anyway, right? Or, take advantage of the department store’s buy-now-pay-later option on that beautiful rug for your living room, because it’s an interest-free deal. But there’s a psychological reason to pay ahead of time, says Elizabeth Dunn and Michael Norton, authors of Happy Money: The Science of Smarter Spending. They’ve found research that suggests you’ll enjoy your vacation more if you aren’t sitting on the beach while thinking about what a huge bill you’ll be facing once you get home. We get more happiness from things — whether it’s chocolate, a new book, or even a vacation — we pay for, but don’t use right away, than we do from goods we put on credit cards or deferred plans.

Area 51 mystery amid claims of ‘significant testing’ at secretive US base

The remote Nevada-based military outpost has been subject to mass attention in recent months over a jokingly planned October ‘raid’. Although the event was intended to mock conspiracy theorists, the secretive base is once again making headlines after “significant” tests were reportedly carried out in the area over the weekend. According to aerial analyst Bryan Herbert, a handful of writs warning pilots of restricted areas have been handed out recently.

Called ‘Notices to Airman’ (NOTAM), the documents detail any areas within the Nevada Test and Training Range that are off-limits to any air traffic.

A notice given last week wrote off 750 miles squared of land that lies near a number of significant practice targets.

It includes a training post for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers and other integration exercises.

The restricted area also encompasses Desert Dry Lake, which sits just 30 miles away from Area 51.

The initial set of NOTAMs stretched from August 8 until August 12.

In addition to this, ‘Janet’ flights – a secret airline that only serves Area 51 – were spotted flying out to the area and surrounding installations.

This is thought to suggest that a major test event, or series of events, is taking place.

The region is thought to have been used for testing out secret or sensitive weaponry.

Because of its remote location and highly secretive nature, it appears the perfect place to carry out dry runs.

It is thought that the US Air Force’s new B-21 Raider stealth bomber could be seeing its first tests.

Even though it is not set to have its first official flight until June 2021, the Nevada site could be used to analyse its progress and carry out tentative tests.

At the same time, it could simply be routine testing by the Trump administration.

Increased attention on Area 51 has fuelled a number of theories from various analysts and ordinary citizens alike.

Some feel that the US government is hiding aliens in the military base, away from public view.

They feel the remains from an alleged UFO crash near Roswell in 1947 are being concealed.

Ufologist James Abbott says that too many people have made allegations against Area 51 for the military site to be a routine one.

It is yet to be seen whether the US government are hiding aliens in Area 51

He added: “If – and it’s a very big if – the US government has come into possession of some incredible material or technology which could not have originated on this planet, Area 51 would be at the top of anyone’s list for researching it.”

Last month over a million people signed up to a Facebook event pledging to storm Area 51.

Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee told CNN ahead of the event the town of Rachel is too small to handle two million people storming the US base.

He said: “I cannot believe it’s gotten this much attention. We deal with this on a weekly basis but nothing to this scale.”

MH370 shock theory: Plane ‘stalled in mid-air as crew panicked during mechanical failure’

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 went missing on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. The official investigation concluded the plane most likely ended up at the bottom of the Indian Ocean, but there are many other theories too. Experts on the Channel 5 documentary ‘Flight MH370’ theorised MH370 could have met the same fate as Air France flight 447 in 2009.

On June 1, 2009, AF447 suffered a catastrophe en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris with 228 people on board.

Aviation lawyer James Healy-Pratt said: “[AF447] encountered some bad weather.

“There was an issue with some of the avionics and then the crew reacted improperly to a problem.

“That then turned the crisis into an emergency.”

READ MORE: MH370: Terrifying Lockerbie bombing comparison revealed

Ice had formed in the tubes that measure air speed, which disconnected the autopilot.

The pilot erroneously reacted by lifting the nose of the plane up, which caused it to lose speed and stall mid-flight.

Mr Healy-Pratt added: “The airbus stalled at 34,000ft and took three and a half minutes to impact the ocean with the loss of all 228 on board.”

The documentary asked: “Could something similar has happened to MH370?

The main difference between the two tragedies is that AF447 was eventually found, because the plane had been sending regular maintenance updates to Air France’s headquarters.

The Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System including GPS data that marked the plane’s exact location when it disappeared.

Two years later, the black boxes were recovered from the ocean.

In contrast, MH370’s wreckage was never found – however, experts have considered whether the crew may have encountered a mechanical failure and panicked, just like the AF447 pilot did.

Aviation consultant Alastair Rosenschein told Channel 5: “All pilots know that the fist thing you do is aviate, then you navigate, then finally you communicate.

“But there was no radio call so one would suggest it possibly was some sort of emergency which prevented the pilots from communicating straight away.”

One such theory was an oxygen bottle exploded causing devastating damage.

This is what happened on EgyptAir flight 667, which suffered a ground fire at Cairo Airport on July 29, 2011.
