MH370 bombshell: Why security expert called for investigation into ‘strong possibility’

MH370 mysteriously vanished on March 8, 2014, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China. Captain Zaharie Shah was in charge of the Boeing 777 and the 239 people on board when it last communicated with air traffic control at 1:19am. However, moments later, the plane vanished from civilian radar screens following a routine handover from Malaysian to Vietnamese channels.

In 2015, on the first anniversary of the disappearance, the Malaysian government released a 600-page report put together by an international team of investigators.

Within it, the documents shockingly revealed the batteries used on the flight data recorder – sometimes referred to as the black box – had gone flat some 15 months before the aircraft took off.

They also revealed how a crucial system in the cockpit “malfunctioned minutes before takeoff” and he 12-year-old Boeing 777 had been involved in an accident on the ground at Shanghai airport 19 months earlier.

However, their report has been heavily criticised for failing to pay due attention to other theories behind the plane’s disappearance.

Philip Baum, editor of Aviation Security International and visiting professor of aviation security at Coventry University told the Independent in 2018: “No officials seem to want to even contemplate the possibility of a stowaway being on board.”

He speculates that one or more individuals could have got on board the aircraft while it was at Kuala Lumpur Airport, and hidden in the underfloor avionics bay just behind the flight deck.

This area is known as the E/E (electronics and engineering) bay, and has access from a “hinged, self-closing access panel” according to Boeing’s technical information.

There is also an external access door at the bottom of the fuselage.

Mr Baum added: “I think a stowaway is a strong possibility, especially as no officials seem to want to even contemplate the possibility,”

His magazine reports that 123 stowaway attempts have been reported internationally on 107 different flights.

Many conceal themselves in the wheel wells, risking freezing to death or falling when the undercarriage is deployed.

However, some have managed to boarded planes disguised as cleaners or airport officials and concealed themselves.

There have been countless claims over what happened to MH370, though.

North Carolina Officials Want Citizens To Be Aware Of ‘Zombie Snakes’

You’ve heard of the Walking Dead, but North Carolina officials are warning locals about the crawling undead.

The state’s Department of Parks and Recreation has posted a photo on its Facebook page of a “zombie snake,” a reptile known for defending itself by lying on its back and pretending to be dead.

The eastern hognose, also known as a puff adder, is found as far south as Florida and Texas and as far north as Minnesota, according to ABC News.

Although some have claimed the snake can shoot venom as far as 25 feet, experts tell the network that’s completely false and there’s little to fear.

Although the “zombie snake” nickname sounds scary, officials at North Carolina State Parks and Recreation told CBS News the eastern hognose is “a mostly harmless snake that rarely ever bites humans.”

″[The snake] puts on quite a dramatic display to deter predators, including puffing up its head to look more like a cobra or pretending to be dead briefly. Nevertheless, they are NOT aggressive and rarely bite people.”

Department spokeswoman Katie Hall was quick to defend the snakes to USA Today.

“We love hognose snakes,” she said. “They put on this really dramatic display, but it’s kind of adorable.”

MH370 shock: Why researcher questioned if THIS proves ‘meteor took plane down’

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China, when the jet mysteriously vanished with 239 people on board. The Boeing 777 aircraft last communicated with air traffic control at 1.19am when the plane was flying over the South China Sea, before vanishing from civilian radar screens. However, minutes later it disappeared from civilian radar, never to be seen again.

Radar and satellite data shows how the jet suddenly changed course and flew back across Malaysia before turning south of Penang and then towards the southern Indian Ocean.

Some have suggested this change in direction suggests that Captain Zaharie Shah played out a suicide mission, while other claim it proves an emergency broke out on board.

However, one CNN reporter had another theory.

She asked during a news special just days after the event: “Could a meteor have taken the plane down?”

She then went on to claim: “There was a known meteor in the area at the time the plane took off.

“Could that have hit the plane?

“Given what we know about the erratic flight path, it’s highly unlikely.”

Also known as shooting stars, meteors are small pieces of dust and debris from space that burn up in Earth’s atmosphere.

They create bright streaks across the night sky and occur fairly regularly.

However, the theory is very unlikely, with the odds of one striking a plane being very low.

In 2015, exactly a year after the plane went missing, a 600 page report was released put together by an international team of investigators.

Within, it disclosed that the batteries used on the flight data recorder – sometimes referred to as the black box – had gone flat some 15 months before the aircraft took off.

The electronic device is placed in an aircraft for the sole purpose of facilitating the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents.

It also revealed how a crucial system in the cockpit “malfunctioned minutes before takeoff“, forcing it to be repaired.

However, perhaps the most shocking revelation of the bunch revealed how the 12-year-old Boeing 777 undertook “major repairs” 19 months before it disappeared.

The taxiing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane struck the tail of a China Eastern Airlines A340 plane at Pudong International Airport in August 2012.

There were no injuries, but the wing of MH370 was significantly damaged.

Part of the plane was broken off and hung on the tail of the China Eastern Airbus 340-600, pictures revealed.

However, the wing tip was fully repaired, tested and then rolled back out to service by the airline.

There have been countless claims over what happened to MH370.

Some state the plane was hijacked, either by terrorists on board or through remote cyber hacking.

While more outrageous ideas have claimed the plane was a  “flying bomb” due to the cargo of five tonnes of mangosteens and 221kg of lithium-ion batteries.

Over the years there have been all sorts of claims over possible sightings, from Maldive islanders to oil rig workers in Vietnam.

However, we are still no closer to knowing the truth.

Sword Swallower Attempts To Swallow Blade Curved 120 Degrees

Swallowing an ordinary sword is hard enough, but ingesting a curved blade? Now that’s cutting-edge.

Currently, there are five people in the world who can swallow a blade with a 90-degree curve, but Dai Andrews wanted to stretch things even further.

Andrews hoped to stomach a sword with an even bigger bend of 120 degrees. Doing so would make him one of just two people to master the very bent blade.

He made the attempt for a new series of “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” that will debut Sunday night on the Travel Channel.

Andrews had his work cut out for him, since he had to bend his body to the sword’s shape to avoid serious internal injuries.

He admitted the pain never goes away completely for sword swallowers.

“But you begin to understand how much of the pain is a mental aversion to the physical sensation,” he told “Ripley’s.” “And when you are able to really be with it, then it will no longer bother you.”

If you want to see whether Andrews bit off more than he could chew, check out the video above.

MH370 heartbreak: Families in Beijing were told Malaysia Airlines plane was ‘delayed’

MH370 vanished on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board – 227 passengers and 12 flight crew. It had lost contact with air traffic control many hours before, but the authorities did not know where the plane had gone. It got to 6:40am in Beijing and the plane should have landed.

Relatives and friends gathered to meet the arrivals, but the display board read that it had been delayed, according to Channel 5 documentary ‘Flight MH370’.

Then, they got some very bad news: the plane had gone missing and no one knew where it was.

An hour after the plane was due to arrive, Malaysia Airlines issued a media statement that the communication with the flight had been lost by Malaysian air traffic control and that search-and-rescue operations were under way.

Back in Malaysia, loved ones of those on board began to hear about the missing plane.

Friends and family began to gather in Kuala Lumpur airport to try and find out any information.

Former Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said in a press conference: “We would like to confirm that this flight MH370 lost contact with air traffic control.”

The next day, Malaysia Airlines spokesman Ignatius Ong Ming Choy said: “We do not have any findings at this point.

“The search and rescue team has been searching since this morning.

“Everyone has put in the effort and yet we have not found any wreckage. No wreckage whatsoever.”

All subsequent searches would also prove to be futile, as no floating debris was ever found.

However, three pieces of debris were found washed up on beaches to the west of the southern Indian Ocean – on Reunion Island, Mauritius and Tanzania.

Families of those on board MH370 have claimed they have been told very little about what was being discovered in the investigation and were treated poorly by the authorities.

One family member at the time tearfully told the press: “Nobody has told us anything. Nobody talks to us except volunteers and hotel staff.”

One woman, whose brother was on the flight, said her family found out that “everyone was dead” by text.

She added: “We have had a lot of stick from people saying we should be over it.

“But I’m not entirely convinced that if it was their loved one on the plane that they would be over it.”

A Biblical plague? Mysterious fly invasion stuns officials – forces village into lockdown

A shocking scenario unfolded in several remote Russian villages this week, prompting officials to launch an investigation into the mystery. Hundreds of thousands of flies descended onto villages across the Ural mountain region of Russia this week. The vast swarms have sparked panic among villages, amid fears that the flies could spread disease to the human inhabitants.

Bizarre images from the region showed thick clouds of flies crawling and buzzing through the village.

Residents described the local scene as “a horror film” and a “biblical plague”

To the frustration of locals, all efforts by officials to end the fly invasion have failed so far.

Resident Elena Karpova in Lazorevy told state television: “You can’t hang out your washing to dry or open your windows, let alone go outside.”

Another local, who was sweeping up dead flies from his floor, told reporters: “Every day or two there’s enough to fill a bucket, half a bucket.”

A woman with a child said: “It’s unbearable, the flies are everywhere.

“I’m afraid for my children. We need to poison the flies constantly with chemicals, but then we all have to breath that air. It’s frightening.”

Russian officials have launched an investigation into the influx of flies, as they try to solve and put an end to the horror.

Residents of the village have been trapped in their houses since the invasion began.

Several locals blamed farmers for the plague, claiming they had used tonnes of chicken droppings from a local poultry farm as fertiliser, in which flies laid millions of eggs.

Investigators confirmed they had opened a criminal investigation into the unsanctioned use of “environmentally hazardous waste”.

Is this the best Area 51 footage ever? Mysterious UFO filmed hovering above secret US base

A bizarre white flying saucer has been caught hovering above the secretive Area 51 military base in alarming new footage. In a video captured earlier this week, a white saucer-shaped object hovers in the sky above the base, where a new aircraft hangar has allegedly just been built. A YouTuber who runs the channel Adventures with Christan filmed the footage after hiking up the Tikaboo Peak, which overlooks the top-secret base.

In the clip, mysterious helicopters, trucks and planes can also be seen entering the busy site.

One Youtube viewer described the footage as the “best Area 51 video I have ever seen”.

In what is described as the biggest change to the base in almost ten years, a 210ft by 250ft hangar can be seen in the video.

Around eleven minutes into the twenty-two minute long footage, a white disc suddenly appears to hover above the space to the left of to the aircraft hangar.

Christian notes: “That flipping thing is weird. Go back and check it out better.”

Moments after the white UFO appears, a jet plane can be seen arriving along the Area 51 runway.

The YouTuber claims the plane is part of the Janet Airlines – the unofficial name given to a highly classified fleet of passenger aircraft operated for the United States Department of the Air Force.

During the surprisingly busy footage, a helicopter is also visible – an HH-60 Pave Hawk chopper that provides security for Area 51 – suddenly emerges near the edge of another mountain between Tikaboo Peak and the base.

Located 100 miles north of Las Vegas in Nevada, Area 51 is officially classified as a US military installation.

In 2013 the CIA officially acknowledged its existence and its location was revealed.

The base was built in 1955 by the CIA  for the purpose of developing cutting-edge reconnaissance aircraft.

MH370 news: ‘Massive explosion’ of oxygen cylinder would leave no time for distress call

MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. There are many theories as to what happened to the plane but one particular mystery is why there was no radio call or distress signal sent out. Aviation journalist David Learmount proposed a theory that might explain this on the Channel 5 documentary ‘Flight MH370’.

He said: “One of the things that comes a bit closer to offering some kind of explanation would be a massive explosion of the oxygen cylinder on board that caused the aircraft to fall apart.

“There would have been no time for a radio call or anything like that.”

While this theory might explain one mystery however, it still does not quite add up.

For example, Thai and Malaysian military radar shows the plane turned 180 degrees and flew down the boundary between airspaces.

READ MORE: MH370 news: Why plane needed ‘major repairs’ before doomed flight

This implies that whoever was flying the plane was deliberately taking it off-course.

Mr Learmount added that the lack of wreckage implies the plane did not explode in the air.

He said: “The wreckage would have been over a wide area – and what’s more, the wreckage would have floated because it’s not like an aeroplane either diving into the sea or making a controlled landing on the surface of the water and then sinking more or less complete, where only a few bits come off.

“No, this would be one where stuff was floating all over the place.

“It would have washed up on beaches all over southeast Asia.”

In fact, no debris was spotted in the water at all, despite a huge international effort.

Two confirmed pieces of MH370 have washed up on Reunion Island and Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, as well as one on the beach of Tanzania on the east coast of Africa.

A number of other pieces of debris have been found but none are confirmed to be from MH370.

The official investigation concluded that the plane likely ended up at the bottom of the southern Indian Ocean.

It is also believed to not be an accident – in other words, someone on board was in control of the plane when it vanished.

However, some people dispute this and there are dozens of possible explanations for the MH370 mystery.

Aviation experts told Channel 5 it is vital that investigators get to the bottom of it, to stop the same thing happening again to another aircraft.

UFO Google Maps sighting: Alien spacecraft crash site spotted on South Pole

Antarctica is the planet’s southernmost most continent, where the geographic South Pole is located. The desolate desert, where temperatures can plummet to -90C, is home to some 1,000 scientists and countless penguins. But UFO conspiracy theorist Scott Waring believes he has now stumbled across something else in the icy wilderness, using Google Maps – the crash site of an alien spacecraft.

Waring took to his etdatabas.com blog in an attempt to explain his bizarre Google Maps find.

He said: “I believe I have found a crashed UFO in the South Pole region.

“Part of the UFO’s wing is folded-up and its concave area is dented.

“The alien craft looks kind of old, but there are still some burn marks trailing all the way behind it.

“I was actually looking for Nazi or alien bases on the South Pole, but instead stumbled upon this.”

The strange discovery was spotted off the coast on a little island to the mainland’s north.

If it was a crashed UFO, it must have been made from some rocky, metallic material like we see on Mars.

Waring added: “The purported alien spacecraft is 96m in length, while the trail is 448m, which is absolutely amazing.

“You see all these broken pieces and the craft slid to its side when it came to rest.

“This is a really strange ship which looks really ancient.

“The scene does not look like it happened yesterday, it looks like it has been around for a very long time.

“It reminds me of the female air pilot Amelia Earhart, who some believe landed on an island.

If you are an alien and land on this tiny island you are kind of screwed – it looks pretty desolate.

“Hopefully any survivors contacted someone and were rescued, although I couldn’t find any alien structures.”

The outlandish UFO claim soon attracted scores of comments on YouTube.

YouTube user Leatherneck Joe wrote: “It looks like it hit the ground slid and maybe it broke off the front edge landed were it is now and the other half to the back and down.

“I surely see something there, very very interesting hmm …”

However, Juanita Beazley is less convinced by Google Maps image, commenting: “I don’t know Scott, this analogy is a stretch!

“I see the skid but I am having trouble getting a ship out of that.”

Walmart Sells Graduation Cake To Mom Without Telling Her It’s Styrofoam

Well, this takes the cake.

A woman in Pasadena, Texas, is really frosted at her local Walmart after the store’s employees goofed up an order for a graduation cake by giving her one made out of styrofoam.

Marsy Flores ordered a cake from the retailer last week to celebrate the high school graduation of her daughter, Lea Nava.

“This is my baby, and she was graduating, so it was very important to me,” Flores told Houston station KPRC.

But things crumbled when she went to the store to pick up the cake. It seemed the Walmart bakery had lost the order and didn’t have anything ready.

store manager told Flores to choose any cake from the ones that were ready to go. The bakers then added a cap-and-gown photo of Lea on the cake and Flores brought it to the graduation party.

But when it came time to cut the cake, the party guests didn’t get their just desserts. That’s because the cake was made of styrofoam, according to local station KTRK.

KTRK TV

Nellie Flores, Marsy’s sister, told EastTexasMatters.com that she was “in complete shock” when she saw the cake wasn’t really a cake.

She also griped about the incident on Facebook:

Nellie Flores said a Walmart manager offered her sister a $60 gift card, a free additional cake and another gift card. But she said in her Facebook post that the offer “can’t make up for the embarrassment and humiliation she went through with family and school friends there.”

HuffPost reached out to Walmart, which did not immediately respond. The company provided this statement to KTRK:

This was the result of a misunderstanding. We attempted to make things right with the customer by way of a gift card.
